I have a penchant for reading the notes on an album, even if it is a simple list of song titles and names of the players. WIthout the story of where the music originated, the story is lost. Enjoy this CD or give it to someone who will spin it occasionally.

To the Other Side Up is where you’re going, on a wind that’s blowin Everything is showing the day you’re born and the day you die By a bed, love all around, we sing songs music fills us Just a game, a life lesson, passing through without fuss Up is where you’re going on a wind that’s blowin Everything is showing the day you’re born and the day you Lift your arms above you, let go of all that’s not true I will always love you, from here and now and to the other side You held me, now I hold you, everything ends in this Everything you ever showed me, led to this final kiss Up is where you’re going on a wind that’s blowin Everything is showing the day you’re born and the day you Lift your arms above you, let go of all that’s not true I will always love you, from here and now and to the other side Lift your arms above you, let go of all, Angels here on earth have come to take you home, final call Up is where you’re going on a wind that’s blowin Everything is showing the day you’re born and the day you Lift your arms above you, let go of all that’s not true I will always love you, from here and now and to the other side

Hitting my Stride When, will I pass my prime, cause I feel like I’m hitting my stride? Who, comes along for the ride, be by my side? Well that gets me thinking Why would I have a day when everything goes right? Why would I have a day when I cry through the night? Where do my nerve endings end? They are leaving my body, going right round the bend And what, are we made of, is it stardust and love, or flesh and blood? Why would I have a day when everything goes right? Why would I have a day when I cry through the night? When I am thinking, I’m always thinking, I can’t stop thinking…..

Sparrow Parable Oh little sparrow flies like an arrow from the grasses by my feet Fly the straight and narrow like the stave of the pharaoh you are a true sign so discreet And the seeds will grow, simple straw builds a home for the sparrow Is it true all we need lay before us? Let’s get this work done You were the witness by crucifixes, raising spirits of mere mortals there, Small and wild, mighty, meek, mild, defeat the cougar fox and bear And the seeds will grow, simple straw builds a home for the sparrow Is it true all we need lay before us? Let’s get this work done Oh dandelion yellow light in Zion, shines like the diamonds on the sea Brief moments in May soon fade away, not much time, yet you work with great speed The power’s in numbers waking from our slumbers, symbols of the strength we need So the seeds will blow simple straw to build the home little sparrow It is true all we need lay before us, let’s get this work done

Let it Go 03:31
Let it Go You frown you fret; all your dreams haven’t come true yet wake up and wipe the sleep from your eyes Let it Go You moan and groan, pick up your feet, keep going tomorrow there will be blue skies You know, you know you know we’re travelling the same road You know, you know, you know, we’re carrying a heavy load, you know you know you know learning to let it go The destination is not the point, it’s midnight dancing in some jukebox joint In your hometown, or on a distant shore And further down the line each one of us gonna know about dying Why won’t they make love not war So don’t be shy, show your heart, where it comes together where it falls apart Oh there is love for all you are Your friends and your family, at your side may they be, to catch your hand when you stray too far
5.
Keep This in Mind Well the older I get it seems the less I know Maybe its wisdom starting to show Gotta keep rolling gotta go with the flow Hope my time left moves long and slow, ohhohhohh Hope my time moves long and slow High on the mountain in the valley below, never found an answer anywhere I’d go Sure I’m a seeker yet I’m cautious to throw All my seeds to the wind and hope the flowers grow, oohhh I hope some cosmos grow I have sorted the truth from the lie felt the day go slow and the moment fly Some say just try If I die before I’m done hope I did enough good and helped someone I keep this in mind Everyday life is how we spent the years climbing up the ladder of a long career We want to be ready when the end appears See beauty in our eyes and hear the music in our ears, oohhh Let’s hear some music in our ears All is uncertain when we take a stand Its only human to put your hand in the hand Even though I’m singing and it seems I understand God only knows the grander plan, ooohhh God only knows

Despite the News Well the snow came early this year Just like it did way back in seventy six, when I got my kicks in school When I took the long way back home All along the tops of snowbanks growing so tall with each snowfall that year I knew it would be alright, despite the weather I could learn to take flight Now I’m on some snowplowed sidewalk See faces worried so down in the mouth The convoy moves south And I hear the hearts thump As we check the news briefs on our old blue screens it’s as bad as it seems and it sells I know it’ll be alright despite the news we can learn to take flight….. Every year gets more lean, threats of weather extremes Too wet too cold too hot in our boiling pot And every worry’s blowing at me As I make my way along Bank street downtown, dodging frowns And I hear a whispering angle, sends me a message bout this light in my heart, that’s a good start We know it’ll be alright despite the weather, we can learn to take flight together…..

A Little Mercy How will we bridge the distance Across the divide There is so much resistance ignorance and pride The news goes on and on Until it brings me to my knees I seek right from wrong And a little Mercy Maybe we’ll find a teacher Help us hear the call Poets prophets preachers Bring lessons to us all There are few words And many wounds to ease Speak and be heard With a little…Mercy If we keep on working Peace may have a chance Bells start ringing When justice is our stance There will be redemption Once everyone believes no unjust exemptions

All Together Now Millions and billions of humans, inhabit the earth Black and white and noisy, we keep on giving birth Born to you born to me, we’re lucky to see, how to live All together now Millions and billions of stars shining tonight (2 million billion to be a little precise) Shine white and silent and they shed their light Shine for you and shine for me, we’re lucky to see, across the universe All Together now, all together now…. Millions and billions of trilliums are blooming today Bloom white and silent, soon they’ll fade away Bloom for you, and they bloom for me, we’re lucky to see three petals near the ground

Bend the Rules I was sitting here, minding my own business never expecting, anything like this if I could I surely would take hold of the opportunity Why do fools fall in love so easily? God, let me bend the rules I was lying there, living my defeat I never expected to press play, and then play this on repeat ( And if I could I surely would grow wings for arms and fly far away Why do birds stop their song at night but sing all day? God, let me bend the rules Isn’t this why you made them? We abide and then we break them then we stop God let me bend the rules

Here's My Song I write songs with no major keys I’m a singer in the minor league Write on with no reward, I’m a singer - here’s my song The time has passed like it always will Ticking onward year by year Too slow too fast, full enough to spill I’m a mother - even that won’t last All these songs, all these notes all these spaces between Stepping far, coming close I will always be.... It’s not my ears it runs through me, generations, at my heels silence hears all the secrets I am nothing I’m a singer All these songs, all these notes all these spaces between Stepping far, then coming close I will always be the song

Never Too Late Don’t get me started, don’t get me started I’ve never had self control over my whims Once everything is darkening I take shelter in fifths of gin, it can get grim, until the... Sun’s moving past, my window wide Clouds roll on by, its windy outside The weather may change, it’s never too late I’m nobody’s fool, but my own I have I, all alone It’s love or its hate, it’s never too late Time to shine a light in the dark See the state of all our hearts Sweep up this mess and let the brightness grow I’m not lonely, I have great wealth I have I, and myself no time to waste, it’s never too late Time to shine a light in the dark See the state of all our hearts Sweep up this mess, that’s how the light gets in
